Online Maps The Internet is a great place to find free maps, but don't restrict yourself to one web site ...
OpenStreetMap Is unusual because it is open data: you are free to use it for any purpose as long as you credit OpenStreetMap and its contributors. "It is built by a community of mappers that contribute and maintain data about roads, trails, cafés, railway station and much more, all over the world". Streetmap gives you detailed Ordnance Survey mapping so it is ideal for geography work. Google Maps include satellite imagery and StreetView. Google Earth "lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain and 3D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean". Bing Maps offers impressive aerial photography as well as detailed maps.
