Seymour Papert, who died on July 31st at age 88, was a mathematician and computer scientist.
He invented Logo and was a passionate advocate for the idea that children learn better when they are 'in-charge' of the computer. A visionary thinker; much of the current computing curriculum is a direct result of Papert's ideas and philosophy.
