One of the most interesting presentations at Naace 2015 was Miles Berry's 'Learning Computing through Failure' in which he explains the importance of debugging. We frequently hear that pupils get frustrated when their programs don't work as they intended them to. Miles Berry explains why debugging is an important skill for pupils to master.
To quote from Pappert, "Children are held back in their learning because they have a model of learning in which you have either ‘got it’ or ‘got it wrong’... The question to ask about the program is not whether it is right or wrong, but if it is fixable…"
