Until now it has been a fairly difficult process to add Apps from the Google Play Store to all of your LearnPad tablets at the same time. The process involved downloading the app on a single device, finding the app's location using the device's File Manager, downloading the app off the tablet onto a PC, uploading it to LearnPad and setting up a Resource for it with all of the correct information.
Luckily there is now a simplified way of doing this whole process. Avantis have released a new app called Resource Creator (You can find it on their store here: learnpad.co/store/activity.cfm?id=68956). This app allows you to view all apps installed on a device and choose to upload them to LearnPad. The process is very straightforward.
To begin with you will need to install Resource Creator. The easiest way to do this is to add it to a Category and deploy it out to the devices (You could add it into the Teacher Tools if you do not want it in a main Category). Once installed on the device you will need to use the Google Play Store App to download the application you would like to deploy. This will install your chosen app on the tablet.
Once installed, Open Resource Creator and find the app you installed in the list. Tick the "Upload the application package and icon in order to redistribute the Resource?" box at the top and press submit. You will be prompted to enter login details. These login details are the Email Address and Password that you will be using to login to the LearnPad Web Portal and give the tablet permission to add an App to your account.
Once these details have been entered it will upload the App to your Resource section on your LearnPad Account. The Submit button and the bottom will now say Close instead to confirm that the App has been uploaded. Now when you login to LearnPad and view your Resources you should be able to see the App. Now that the app is on LearnPad you can add it to a Category and send it out to your tablets.
